Pop Music Ruined my Album

So, a song has been cut form the album entirely.
We were going to cover "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry for my upcoming album "Never Worry Again", right?
But now it feels totally weird after the whole space adventure situation. It's a total shame because I was pretty much almost done with it.
I'm a nobody. It's not as if it was going to matter in the first place. I am but a grain of salt in the ocean, after all. But, I just don't really feel like aligning myself with that sort of ... drama ish situation.
I understand things become irrelevant very quickly. But, idk. Let's just drop explanation. We cut the damn song. Sorry too bad. I'm upset too.
So, now we're on the hunt for a new song to cover. I'd like to cover one pop song per album if I can.
I think it's fun and funny- My 2 favorite adjectives.
The biggest problem is: I don't want to cover a song with lame lyrics.
There are so many pop songs that are absolute bangers, it's true. I'm a hungry consumer of the 2000s era pop.
I think everyone can agree "Toxic" by Britney Spears is insanely good song. But have you double checked those lyrics, my friend? They're not great.
Bro, She says "I'm lovin' it".
Like McDonalds.
I do not care if that was their slogan or not at the time. In this age, I will not be saying the phrase "I'm lovin' it" in any song.
So, that's ruined.
I have been finding more and more that I am so very picky.
The version of Dark Horse that I created did a complete rewrite of the awful rap section.
I'm not making a dig toward rap whatsoever. I love rap. But Juicy J's part in Dark Horse is embarrassingly bad.
Every play on words is delivered with this confidence like "I'm a genius", but it's about as clever as "Call me Mr. Flintstone, I can make your bed rock" -awful.
In the Mr. Flintstone song, he repeats that line way too many times, by the way. It's like when a kid says a joke then repeats it to relive the high, but carries it on for too long. You know what I mean?
Ugh, and too many of these songs are about dancin' and/or going to the club. Were people really out at the club that much? Seems unlikely to me.
I understand criticizing pop lyrics is not a hot take. A lot of pop music is vapid and written by like 5 old white guys, I get it.
All I'm saying is their lack of writing skills is making it really hard for me to complete my album. Now, I'm directly affected and I'm ticked.
I know the perfect song will fall into our lap. But I'll always mourn what I had.
One day, I'll release the song and we can all laugh about how we lived through the era when Katy Perry went to Space and Wendy's -the hamburger restaurant- bullied her so hard that she demanded an apology and they refused.
